Today, the 4th graders from both classes began collaborating in teams of 3 or 4 to create a structure and a parachute to prevent an egg from falling from about 12 feet high. They have a limited number of resources and are being asked to get creative in their problem solving. They will be using what they know about forces, like gravity and air resistance, to create their parachute device. They will also practice our Learner Expectations (collaborator, information processor, and problem solver) through this activity.
Today, they worked on their designs, tomorrow they will build, and Monday they will test. Check back for updates and the winning design(s)!
