5th Grade Reaction Time Lab

Monday, the 5th graders conducted the first parts of an experiment to test their reaction time.  Students are collecting data to draw conclusions about the reaction time of boy versus girls.  Students are investigating visual reaction time and auditory reaction time in 2 separate experiments.  To collect data, students are dropping and catching a ruler and using the measurement to calculate reaction time in fractions of a second.

Students are being assessed on their ability to conduct an experiment, analyze data, and draw and write conclusions.  Additionally, students are required to find averages and make graphs to represent data.  This is a truly interdisciplinary activity - and they're having fun, too!

Results and conclusions will be posted later this week.
