Below are this week's vocabulary words and definitions. Students will be assessed Friday, October 17 on these words along with the previous 5 words (definitions can be found here).
4th Grade
Factors - the numbers you multiply together
Deforestation - the cutting, clearing, and removing of a large amount of trees, typically associated with the Rainforest
Product - the answer you get when you multiply two or more factors
Ecosystem - the living (biotic) and nonliving (abiotic) factors in an environment
Multiples - the product of a given number and any other number; skip count to find multiples (ex: multiples of 10: 10x1=10, 10x2=20, 10x3=30, etc. so the multiples of 10 are 10, 20, 30...)
5th Grade
Factors - the numbers you multiply together
Outer Ear - the section of the ear containing the pinna and the ear canal
Product - the answer you get when you multiply two or more factors
Inner Ear - the section of the ear containing the cochlea, auditory nerve, and semi-circular ear canals
Middle Ear - the section of the ear containing the ear drum, hammer, anvil, and stirrup
