4th Grade News - Week of 8/25

Welcome Back!

I hope everyone had a great break and is ready to get back to work.

For the next month or so, 4th graders will be learning about our place value system.  Students began working with numbers up to the millions place today and will continue to work with these numbers to understand how our number system works.  Right now, we are working to represent numbers in different ways.  In science, students are beginning to study ecosystems and how living and nonliving things depend on each other.  Tomorrow, they will begin their in-class project, in which they will be required to become an expert on an ecosystem (for example, the Antarctic Tundra).  Students will work with a group to create a learning visual and then teach their classmates about their ecosystem.

Students will continue to have gym and music for specials.  Fall Enrichments begin next week.  Students will find out this week what Enrichment they are assigned.  Monday, September 1 is Labor Day and there is no school.

Have a great week!
