This week, we started our unit on division. The kids have been working hard on this sometimes challenging topic. Students have been given some different strategies to apply to this concept. One is traditional Long Division. Some students were taught a shortened division strategy that uses a lot of mental math skills. Another strategy students were taught is called Partial Quotient Division - this is a newer way to divide (I did not learn this when I was in school). Many students have taken to this method and expressed a preference for it over the long division. Below are some videos and other resources to help with this skill. There are many more out there, too!
