This week, 5th grade is continuing to work on the using the standard algorithm for multiplying by single and double digit factors. Students should be able to multiply up to a 3-digit number by a 2-digit number.
Students will be presenting their projects over the course of the next couple days. Quint Two Awards - projects and learner expectations - will be given out Thursday at a Lower School Assembly.
Students will take a multiplication assessment on the 5.NBT.5 standard on Friday, October 24. Students will be assessed on their ability to use the standard algorithm to multiply up to a 4-digit number by a 1-digit number, a 2-digit number by a 2-digit number, and a 3-digit number by a 2-digit number. To earn a 4, students will have to extend their understanding to multiply larger numbers.
