5th Grade News - Week of 10/20

Good Morning!

This week, 5th grade is continuing to work on the using the standard algorithm for multiplying by single and double digit factors.  Students should be able to multiply up to a 3-digit number by a 2-digit number.

Students will be presenting their projects over the course of the next couple days.  Quint Two Awards - projects and learner expectations - will be given out Thursday at a Lower School Assembly.

Students will take a multiplication assessment on the 5.NBT.5 standard on Friday, October 24.  Students will be assessed on their ability to use the standard algorithm to multiply up to a 4-digit number by a 1-digit number, a 2-digit number by a 2-digit number, and a 3-digit number by a 2-digit number.  To earn a 4, students will have to extend their understanding to multiply larger numbers.
