This week, both grades will be wrapping up their place value units. Today (Tuesday), students took a rounding quiz (whole numbers-4th, decimals-5th). Overall, they did very well! Thursday, both grades will be taking a place value unit assessment covering the topics from the past 3 weeks. These skills will serve as a basis for our upcoming units, which focus on the four operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) with whole numbers (4th and 5th) and decimals (5th).
In science, 4th grade is continuing to study food chains and food webs, while 5th grade is focusing on how sound is transmitted and altered.
Today, all students received a permission slip for the Hartford Wolfpack's educational game day. This is not until November 5th, but to reserve tickets, permission slips must be returned, along with $10, by October 24. No late permission slips will be accepted - the sooner the better!
