Happy Labor Day!
I hope everyone enjoyed the unofficial last weekend of summer. This week in 4th grade we will be continuing our place value and ecosystems units. Students will be comparing and ordering numbers up to the millions place (and beyond for a challenge). Students will use the mathematical symbols > (greater than), < (less than), and = (equal to). In science, students will finish and present their Ecosystems Projects. They have done a nice job collaborating and researching their ecosystems.
We have a new homework menu for Quint 2. Many of the options are the same, but you can access the new one here. As a reminder, all attached pages in the homework menu are mandatory unless noted on the page. The menu options can be used if you did not complete the 80 minutes for the week.
Permission slips went home on Friday for an Arts Department field trip to the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum on Wednesday, September 10. Students will be walking there and eating lunch at the school. The trip is free. Permission slips should be returned to Mr. Mourning on or before Friday, September 5.
MAP Testing will be taking place over the next two weeks. Grades 1 and 2 will be testing this week. We will begin testing grades 3, 4, and 5 next week. Students will take 3 tests - Math, Reading, and Language Use.
